About Us
Etna in Sydney, a boutique statue crafter hailing from the grand twenty kilometer stratovolcano of Etna in Italy, an active Sicilian lava and ash layered volcano whose name is bourne from the term ‘aitho,’ translating into ‘I burn.’
And it is a burning passion that fuels the way we design, craft and finish our distinctive and inspiring adornments. Our founder is originally from Sicily (Italy), and after 10 years as an Australian citizen, he is proud to bring a piece of his home country into the homes of Australians who enjoy Italian culture.
Inspired directly from mount etna, our master craftsman uses a range of quality materials, from recycled volcanic ash and lava composite, to ceramic decals, to terracotta as a canvas upon which to assemble beautiful handmade works using traditional artisanal practices handed down from father to son over generations.
There is a pride of ownership and a story that comes with items made by hand, with stories from across the world and attention to detail from the heart that is unmatched in soul by mass-produced goods. After all, decoration is not essential or functional – it is art; a thing of beauty, a testament to the human love of beauty.
Just as the Etna volcano has had three observatories built in the pursuit of learning its ways, your friends, family and guests will grow curious of our statues, what they are made of and where they come from.
Describing their exotic materials, traditional handcrafted origin and deep ties to the natural world creates a sense of wonder, adding personalisation and homeliness to any room.
Ranging in products from volcanic angel statues and prancing horses to terracotta and ceramic animals and sun signs, to elaborate recreations of the crucifix, our mission is to breathe life into every artwork with pride and passion.
Imbue your home with a piece of authentic handmade Sicilian decor whose core is married to a wonder of the natural world, exclusively made by master our craftsman in Italy for Etna in Sydney.
