about the founder

Born and raised in Catania, Sicily I have always felt a deep connection to culture. Italy is rich with history, from the food to the art and so much more! The town where I grew up was no exception. Everywhere I looked there was an amazing amount of beauty that had been growing for centuries. The pinnacle of this beauty in Catania was Etna. At the base of this active volcano was my small, gorgeous town. Overlooking the Ionian Sea, the volcano was (and still is) alive with heat and lava. This gorgeous red liquid flows down the sides and statues made of the substance adorned many stores in my little town. As a child, I often stared lovingly at these works of art and wondered how they were made.

Ten years ago, I left my beautiful home in Italy to broaden my horizons and explore all Australia had to offer. I was 16,000 km away from all of my friends and family, ready to flourish on my own. For years, I thought about those statues I gazed at in my youth, wondering why there was nothing like it being sold to the people of Australia. For eight years I thought about how these lava masterpieces, made from Mount Etna, were missing from the homes of everyone in Australia. Mid-pandemic, in 2020, I realized that I had the power to bring handcrafted lava statues to Australia. I could be the one who shared a little piece of my home and spread the beauty of Italy.

When I finally made it back to my homeland, I started developing the concept for my business and contacted all of the people I would need to know in order to create the very best products. Right in my home city, I found the perfect development partner and we began working on gorgeous lava statues, beautiful terracotta pieces, ceramic decals, and hand-decorated ceramics. Full of enthusiasm and excitement by what I had been working on and dreaming of for so many years, I jumped into my business. Now, I am ready to share little pieces of Italy with Australia, and the world. From jewelry holders to coasters to bowls and many other products, I have worked to make items you would be thrilled to place in your home.
